Fashion Week Daily: “Closeup Ready” Timothy Greenfield-Sanders stages first exhibition in Rome Tuesday, August 21, 2007 (NEW YORK) Timothy Greenfield-Sanders will stage his first exhibition in Rome at the Bilotti Museum’s Orangery of Villa Borghese October 17 to January 13. Curated by Gianni Mercurio, “Film Stars: Portraits by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders” will feature 50 images of actors and directors, all shot between 1976 and 2007, that have sat in front of the famed lensman’s large format camera, including actors Nicole Kidman, Alec Baldwin, Tom Hanks, and Rose McGowan, directors Orson Welles, Alfred Hitchcock, Spike Lee, and Woody Allen. And in recognition of the exhibition’s locale, a portrait of Italian actress Valeria Golino will hang in this international context amidst the gifted and the gorgeous. The black-and-white, as well as color photographs, range in size from 70×50 to 180×150 centimeters. The debut will coincide with the “Cinema Festa Internazionale di Roma”, the second international cinema festival in Rome. The exhibition is sponsored by the Town Council Department of Cultural Policy in Rome and supported by Fondazione Tramontano Arte.
